Montgomery County residents who have County-provided refuse and recycling collection service and would like to know how holidays and/or inclement weather may affect their pickups need look no further than their computers. The County Division of Solid Waste Services invites residents to subscribe to its email notification service which sends reminders approximately one week before a holiday to explain whether or not that holiday will cause collection days to shift. When weather- related changes are announced, email alerts are sent out immediately. The announcements apply to County-provided collection service only. To subscribe, visit www.montgomerycountymd.gov/solidwaste.
