The pool opens on the
Memorial Day Weekend and Closes following Labor Day Weekend.
While public school is in session, the pool will open at 2:00 p.m. on school days (Monday through Friday). On weekends, the pool will open at 12 noon. On school nights (Sunday through Thursday) the pool will close at 8:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday it will remain open until 9:00 p.m. Following the end of the school year, the pool will be open daily from 12 noon to 9:00 p.m.
Please remember that your annual assessments must be paid up, and a current census form, with clear photos of all family members, must be completed if you want to use the pool. Each time you and members of your household visit the pool, you will be asked your name, and the front desk personnel will check your photo and ask you to sign in. Only people who live in your house full time are considered family members (exceptions are, of course, made for children away at school or college). If you are new to the neighborhood, or have new family members to add to your card, please contact Louisa Hoar at 301-871-2954. Pictures must have your name and address on the back and should be fairly current. You may want to up-date photos of children periodically. They do grow so fast, and if pool personnel don't recognize them, they could be denied access.
No, we don't supply them, but you can arrange to allow your babysitter to bring your children to the pool without having to pay the usual guest fee. Just fill out a Babysitter Form, available at the front desk. Any additional children brought to the pool by your sitter, such as his or her own children, will be required to pay the guest fee.
Please note that there are NO PAPER DIAPERS allowed in the pool. Children may wear cloth diapers with tight fitting rubber pants, or the new swim diapers available in stores. To prevent accidents, we strongly recommend that you use both a disposable swim diaper and tight fitting rubber pants. Please change your baby and dispose of dirty diapers in the bathrooms where changing areas are provided.
Children seven years of age and younger must be accompanied by someone who is at least 14 years old. Parents and babysitters are required to pay close attention to their children whether they are in or out of the water. Lifeguards are not intended to be babysitters! Children who disobey pool rules (which are clearly posted in the window of the guardroom) will be made to "sit out" for a time, and if they continue to be disruptive, will be told to leave pool grounds. If a child is wearing "swimmies" (inflatable armbands) a responsible adult MUST BE IN THE WATER WITH THEM.
The pool pavilion is available for members to rent during normal pool hours. There is a $50.00 cleaning fee which will be refunded if you cleanup after your party. Daily guest fees will be charged to any of your guests who are not pool members. To reserve the pavilion, call Louisa Hoar at 301-871-2954.
Guests will be charged $1.00 per person on weekdays and $2.00 on the weekend. There is no charge for children under three years of age. If you have chosen the season guest pass option, you must still have your census form and photos at the pool, and you and your guests must show the passes to get into the pool. One pass per person is required.
